It
has become a tradition - to give myself a vacation from my normal schedule of
teaching piano lessons during this week before Thanksgiving. I take the time to
focus on getting some preparation for Christmas done, as well as baking and
cooking for our holiday meal.
Yesterday I spent most of the day in
my kitchen. It was a rather warm day so I had the kitchen door and window open
to enjoy the fresh air. As I was measuring and mixing I heard a noise from
outside and noticed that our tree was “deleafing” itself. The leaves were mesmerizing
as they swirled and floated to the ground.
It was a gentle reminder of the passing of a season –
another reminder of the amazing creativity of the great Creator of this universe.
“He made the moon to
mark the seasons
and the sun knows
when to go down.”
Psalm 104:19.
