I am thankful today for my chair in my
bedroom. I purchased this chair several years ago with some “inheritance” money
I received. It is a beautiful, comfy chair – and most
mornings that is where you can find me curled up with my Bible and journal.
My chair is situated by one of the
windows and, because our home is a split level, when I look out the window I
can almost feel like our home is in the middle of a beautiful wooded lot with
no neighbors. I love sitting and looking out the window as I reflect on what I’ve
just read in my quiet time.
Just an arm’s length away from the chair
is my hope chest at the foot of our bed. Many times when I am praying I picture
Jesus sitting on there on the chest as we have a conversation and I share my heart with
Him.
As I sit in my chair He lovingly and
patiently listens to
my fears and confusion
my joys at a new discovery
my tears and hurts
my petitions for family and friends
my adoration and expressions of love
I’m thankful for my chair…
my place of quiet solitude to meet my Creator Redeemer ~ my Abba.
